Kayaking Along the North Shore

When you're next to the largest freshwater lake on the planet, you want to get out on it! Kayaking is a wonderful way to take in the Sawtooth Ridges and shoreline from the big lake. Paddlers get up close views of the rock outcrops, cliffs, caves, and cobblestone beaches that make up the area shoreline and are a focal point of the Lake Superior Water Trail.

Want to take a smaller step into kayaking? Drop your kayak into any of the hundreds of inland lakes surrounding Caribou Highlands Lodge. One of our favorites is nearby Barker Lake, with its close proximity and pretty scenery. Or if you've never been out, make your first kayaking adventure a guaranteed success by taking a guided tour.

Lake Superior Water Trail
